From the popular Speyside distillery, Balvenie, this 17 year old from the Stories Range, The Week Of Peat, references when Balvenie trialled drying barley with peat for the first time, during a week long gap in the distillery’s production schedule in 2002.

Distillery Location
Balvenie - 17 Year Old (The Week Of Peat) Stories Range's home is Distillery Location distillery, in the Speyside region of Scotland.

The Balvenie distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Dufftown, Scotland, owned by William Grant & Sons.

In early 1892 work began to convert an 18th-century mansion (Balvenie New House) into a distillery.  The building took fifteen months to complete, and on 1 May 1893, the first distillation took place at the Balvenie Distillery.

In 2007, The Balvenie's Global Brand Ambassador, David Mair presented an online documentary series about the making of malt whisky, shot in and around the Balvenie Distillery.

    The title says it all

I have had the chance to order a few Balvenie bottles, and what I love about them is that they are all so different! This is a very peat forward expression, as the title suggests. While that isn’t typically what I am looking for, this would be perfect for you if you are (or reasonably priced if you’d like to try it out). I love the 1509 Tun series (admittedly only had batch six, waiting to open a 7 and 8) which I would highly recommend if you are looking for something less peat forward.
