Bruichladdich Distillery is a distillery on the Rhinns of the isle of Islay in Scotland. The distillery produces mainly single malt Scotch whisky, but has also offered artisanal gin. It is owned by Rémy Cointreau after being owned by Mark Reyneir.

One interpretation of the Gaelic word Bruichladdich is "stony shore bank", referring to a post-glacial raised beach, though an alternative, perhaps more pertinent translation may be "rocky lee shore".

    Peat heaven!!

Had several Octomore releases in the past. Never was disappointed! Peat intensity & very full complex flavors. Perfect for sipping next to a fireplace with a cigar in hand.

A Good Edition To The Series

On the nose obvious peat, smoke, toffee caramel, lime or lemon juice, pear, malted barley and a lovely coastal/sea spray note. Palate is oily, nice and sweet but not overly so, earthy peat and smokiness lingers beautifully but for me comes across as a little too spicy. so a few drops of water for me do help. Finish is long with that smoke and peat dominating. Overall an enjoyable release and a good addition to the series. My only gripe is the price, but not much can be done about that. As always great service from Still Spirit.
