This small-batch blended Scotch whisky is composed of carefully chosen single-malt and single-grain whiskies. They have all been aged for more than 6 years before being blended and rested, and then bottled by us at Dornoch Distillery. They have selected the components of the whisky to celebrate sherry maturation, and its character is inspired by the sherry-forward blends of the past.

Once rested, the whisky is slowly diluted to 46% ABV,  It is then bottled without chill-filtration and no colouring is added.

Thompson Bros - 6 Year Old (TB/BSW Blend)'s home is Distillery Location distillery, in the Highland region of Scotland.

Philip and Simon Thompson announced their plans for the Dornoch distillery back in 2015, with a successful crowd-funding campaign 2016 leading to the establishment of the distillery on-site at Dornoch Castle Hotel; one of the World’s leading whisky bars in Dornoch owned by the Thompson brothers.

Housed in the Old Fire Station on the grounds of Dornoch Castle Hotel, the brothers are focussed on making a style of whisky that has been long extinct, using floor malted organic heritage barley varieties to make it, and utilising long fermentations with brewers varieties of yeast in their wooden washback

The value for money is exceptional

A friend recommended this bottle as part of a staple to his drinks cabinet. I was curious knowing the brand for quality and price. I was blown away by the taste and no wonder it has won so many awards. The story behind it makes you realise how much of a happy accident this is for customers.

    Beautiful blended scotch

Rich sherry on the palate giving some of the big boys a run for their money. A beguiling whisky and the price is incredible.

    Surprisingly good

Picked this up having seen some good reviews online and I wasn't disappointed. Having been a single malt geek for years I was a bit averse to blends, as having tasted some really nasty ones in the past. This was surprisingly really good, and is honestly up there with some of the well known 10-12 year old sherry cask single malts, and for a fraction of the price. These days i personally wont spend my money on some of the ones out there just now because they are just not worth the price and hype. This i can say, that if you are after an old school sherry cask driven whisky, with big bold fruity flavours-and don't turn your nose up to it being a blend-then this is well worth having on your shelf. It's bottled with integrity, no added colour, non chill filtered, 46%, as this is what enthusists are now after and for an affordable price. Could blends be the new avenue for many? If they are this good, then so be it. If you haven't got one, then get one now.
