A fantastic limited edition release from Glenmorangie, following on from A Tale of Cake and A Tale of Winter.

Director of Whisky at Glenmorangie Dr Bill was inspired by walks through the woods near his home and aimed to capture its essence, be it the fragrance of last night's rainfall or the sound of leaves rustling. To create a whisky steeped in the scents, sights and sounds of the forest, Dr. Bill brought back an ancient method of infusing barley with botanicals. For this release he used juniper berries, birch bark and heather blossom.

    Surprisingly excellent whisky

Very surprised at how good this whisky tastes. The price bracket it is in and the taste are the biggest surprise here, the flavour is complex and layered.. From the start you know it’s 46% ABV which is something generally found in a luxury whisky. The taste starts with sweet botanical it remains strong through the middle becoming fruity and has a really good and dare I say very long finish which is slightly smokey. It highlights what is missing in a luxury whisky like Johnnie Walker Blue Label. At about a third of the price you really need to try this.
